The Dark Glow

The Gallery at Bex is excited to host a new artist in the gallery space next month.

Andrea Kelly’s art will begin hanging in January, with an opening reception on January 11th (mark your calendar)! After the playful and whimsical nature of The Gallery’s first two artists, Kelly’s art takes a turn more toward the serious and moody, with oil landscape and figure paintings that have a quiet, pensive quality to them, akin to Picasso’s blue period or the impressionistic works of Berthe Morisot.

Educated at New York art schools and based in Long Valley, her work has a kind of rainwashed quality that brings out the brightness of colors after a good downpour. The paintings will look especially good in the Gallery’s austere, bright space.
